Should the web interface be protected using basic auth?

Postby Karel » Mon Sep 14, 2009 11:20 am

I've seen one request in the past asking for basic authentication on the web interface. That can be implemented quite easily actually and I might stick it in. Do we think that's useful? Feel free to comment. Also, if you're protecting the web interface from being accessed by others, how do you do it?

I'd like that. 1 vote from me. :)

Currently I'm simply using iptables to restrict access to the web interfaces on the IP level so they can be accessed from our office gateway. But I'd like to combine this with some basic authentication as well.
